Slug


Last night I made an attempt at doing the mech thumbs but in doing so I came to the realization that multitasking is not conducive with concentration. What I ended up with was a bunch of gibberish. I even went in with clarity - 'My theme is this and I will draw it this way." I was also assembling furniture and throwing out a ton of stuff. The end result was frustrating. I should still throw it up even though I don't like it.

I also love drawing creatures. So after all that I drew a slug.

After some thought I've decided to post my work from last night. I made the one I liked most biggest but I harbor no illusion that it's very different from the robot architect. That said, here it is -

Mech Jam 2

Some successes some not so much... I did brush upon the beginnings of what could possibly be the starting of a routine when it comes to reliable, fast iteration. I just need to maintain this habit of thumbnail generation. I also think I need to incorporate a theme to this stuff. I have noticed that it's far too easy to let my mind wander and get side tracked while making these. One more thing - story. When I was sketching and making up a story as I went along it was a lot easier to 'see' what I was doing.

Mech Jam

I didn't really have an particular theme for this exercise. I the intent was simply to get back into the habit of producing a ton of thumbnails in a really short amount of time. This took roughly an hour and half to produce.
